Why Cloth Diapers?
There are three very good reasons to consider using cloth diapers:
1. Cloth diapers are healthier for your baby. There are a lot of chemicals in disposables that are not in cloth diapers.
2. Cloth diapers are better for the environment. Disposables are used only once and then sit in a landfill for who knows how long. Cloth diapers can be used again and again.
3. Cloth diapers are cheaper. The average cost of cloth diapering a baby from birth to potty training can range from $300 - $600 depending on the style of cloth diapering. The average cost of disposables for that same baby is $1500. In addition, with cloth diapers, you still have the diapers after all is said and done to either use for your next child or you can sell.

Did I mention that cloth diapers are CHEAPER!? While the cost of cloth diapering is cheaper, it is true that you have more costs up front (buying your stash) than buying disposables throughout your diapering years. With our own family, we started out with disposables and added cloth diapers as we could until we got a full stash and could convert completely. There are many other families that have done similar where they started out by just buying a couple cloth diapers each paycheck until they had a stash built up.
